Court orders comment period and public hearing on MSBA lawyer advertising petition

In late June the MSBA filed a petition (ADM10-8005) requesting changes that would bring Rule 7 of the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct (MRPC), which governs attorney advertising, into alignment with ABA Model Rule 7, which was revised in 2018.

Trust account overdrafts: what you need to know

For more than 30 years, the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility has administered a trust account overdraft program. In fact, Minnesota was one of the first states to implement such a program (in 1990, following the American Bar Association’s adoption of a model rule on the topic in 1988).
