Program Description:
This presentation will discuss the process of stepparent
adoption, requisites of the petition and other documents necessary to complete the process. This presentation will also address
the rights of birth fathers, child support orders and arrearages, other obstacles that
may prevent adoption, tools for negotiating good outcomes, and
if a contested hearing becomes necessary, strategies for navigating that
process.
