The MSBA’s fiscal year began on July 1, and the dues renewal season is well underway. If you haven’t already renewed, now is a good time to do so to take advantage of the many ongoing and new member benefits. In 2015, the MSBA has already added several new programs, services, and partnerships leading to even more ways to maximize the value of your MSBA membership.

One such new benefit is the MSBA’s technology conference on November 5, which offers a significant registration discount to members (and, FYI, the early bird rate also expires next week). For $50, members get a full day of CLE credit including several ethics and elimination of bias credits; breakfast, lunch and cocktails; and the opportunity to learn more about current trends in legal technology and new practice tools and resources.

Last year MSBA Sections offered 260 CLE programs, many of which were free or discounted for members. September has been a busy month for Sections, with many more programs in the works for the rest of the year as well.

Additionally, the MSBA’s On-Demand program offers dozens of recordings on a number of topics, all available to members for 50% off. Under the Minnesota CLE Rules, attorneys can claim up to 15 on-demand credits per reporting period. Using the member discount, MSBA members can save up to $375 each reporting period.

There are a number of benefits available to MSBA members, including Fastcase, practicelaw, and listservs. And members get discounts on a number of products, services and practice tools, including Clio, ShareFile, mndocs, LawPay, insurance, and Wild tickets.

Some members may maintain MSBA membership out of a sense of duty to the legal profession, or for the community; others join for a specific benefit or benefits. Some members have shared their reasons: #WhyMSBA.
