Judges Theodora
Gaïtas and Jon Schmidt both began their legal careers as law clerks at
the Minnesota Court of Appeals. Following their clerkships, they both had
successful careers in appellate practice. Judge Gaïtas and Judge Schmidt have
returned to the Court of Appeals, where they both now serve as judges. In
conjunction with the 40th anniversary celebration
of the Court of Appeals, please join former MSBA Appellate Practice
Section Council Chair Chris Bowman (also a former Court of Appeals clerk), as he speaks with
Judge Gaïtas and Judge Schmidt about their time clerking on the Court of
Appeals, their subsequent careers in appellate practice, how those experiences led to
their appointments to the Court of Appeals, and their perspectives in that
role.
