Event Description
The United States remains one of the most attractive markets for foreign direct
investment in the world. At the same time,
a foreign person who wishes to invest into the United States has to
navigate through an intricate web of state entity and
business laws and comply with the most complicated tax system
in the world.
This CLE intends to provide U.S.
business lawyers with a general understanding of the most important business and
tax considerations that are relevant in common situations involving foreign
clients who are seeking to invest into U.S. entities. The presenters will
address such controversies as optimal entity selection and structure, as well as
equity and debt investments. The goal of the CLE is to integrate these
considerations into one easy-to-follow analytical framework that a business
lawyer can use to identify most common traps and potential opportunities for
their foreign clients.
