Environmental and Energy Law Society (EELS).
Registration and lunch beginning at 12 noon.
The CLE
presentation will begin at 12:25 pm.
Distributed energy resources
(DERs)—such as rooftop solar, electric vehicles, energy efficiency technology,
and smart themostats—are seen as key components of a cost-effective strategy to
decarbonize the energy sector. But DERs also fundamentally change existing
patterns in the incidence of costs and benefits across consumers who deploy
DERs, consumers who don't deploy DERs, utilities, and third parties, thus
raising the possibility of "cross-subsidization" and distributional inequality.
This presentation will provide an overview of the conceptual and policy
approaches to equitable treatment of DERs through the lens of tariffs for
distributed solar generation.
Virtual attendance option is
available. However, we encourage you to attend in person if possible to network
with colleagues and law students. Please note that masks must be worn
inside the law
school.
