Event Description
Remote participation only. Limit to
30 participants.
The
Probate & Trust Law Section’s Legislative Committee established the
Electronic Wills Subcommittee in 2019 to study electronic wills legislation
adopted in other states and the Uniform Electronic Wills Act promulgated by the
Uniform Law Commission, and to examine and discuss how these concepts might be
beneficial and incorporated into Minnesota law. As a result of that research and
discussion, the Subcommittee has proposed legislation that would modify
Minnesota statutes to allow the use of Electronic Wills and Remote Witnessing in
Minnesota. During this roundtable, members of the Electronic Wills Subcommittee
will lead a discussion regarding the proposed legislation. The goal of this
roundtable is to educate Section members regarding the Subcommittee’s research
on this topic, and to facilitate dialogue and feedback regarding the
proposal.
