Program
Description:
An overview of the history and laws on the use of
military personnel in domestic operations. The briefing will focus on the
civil disturbances across the country and in the state of Minnesota during the
summer of 2020, with an examination of the federal and state authorities to use
military personnel and the role they play. The briefing will also focus on
the rights of service members called to duty under both federal and state
activations, to include the Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act and the state law
equivalent (M.S. 190.055).
