Collateral Consequences of Criminal Cases

Event Description

MSBA Criminal Law Section
MSBA Administrative Law Section

Join us for a look at the collateral consequences of criminal dispositions on direct care background studies and licensing boards. What are the collateral effects of various criminal charges and dispositions for clients who maintain professional licenses or work with vulnerable adults, seniors, or children? Panelists will provide an overview of the laws governing some of the most common Minnesota statutory employment background studies and explain how various types of criminal charges and plea arrangements affect individuals who enter the criminal justice system.
