Civil Litigation Annual Meeting and Dinner

Join the Civil Litigation Section for their Annual Dinner, CLE and celebration.  This event is open to all (Civil Litigation Section members receive a discounted rate) and it provides a wonderful opportunity to socialize with your colleagues and hear a prominent speaker and legal scholar discuss constitutional law and the Supreme Court (1.0 Standard CLE credit will be applied for).
 

Keynote Speaker

Professor Erwin Chemerinsky
Dean and Distinguished Professor, UC Berkeley School of Law 

Erwin Chemerinsky is a nationally-recognized commentator and scholar on constitutional law and the United States Supreme Court. He became the 13th Dean of Berkeley Law on July 1, 2017, when he joined the faculty as the Jesse H. Choper Distinguished Professor of Law. Professor Chemerinsky was the founding Dean and Distinguished Professor of Law at University of California, Irvine School of Law, with a joint appointment in Political Science. His areas of expertise are constitutional law, federal practice, civil rights and civil liberties, and appellate litigation. He is the author of eleven books, including leading casebooks and treatises about constitutional law, criminal procedure, and federal jurisdiction.  His most recent books is We the People:  A Progressive Reading of the Constitution for the Twenty-First Century (Picador Macmillan) published in November 2018.  He frequently argues cases before the nation’s highest courts, and also serves as a commentator on legal issues for national and local media.

This event will be held at the Windows on Minnesota Restaurant in the Marquette Hotel in downtown Minneapolis.  Parking is available in a variety of parking ramps within a few blocks.
