Commission on Judicial Selection Recommends Tenth Judicial District Candidates to Governor Walz 

[ST. PAUL, MN] – The Commission on Judicial Selection announced today it is recommending three candidates for consideration to fill the current vacancy in Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District. This vacancy occurred upon the death of the Honorable Tammi A. Fredrickson and will be chambered at Anoka in Anoka County.

Melissa Saterbak: Ms. Saterbak has been an Assistant Anoka County Attorney since 2015, where she specializes in prosecuting felony violent crime, including child sexual abuse, domestic violence and homicides. Prior to working at the Anoka County Attorney’s Office, she was an Assistant Mille Lacs County Attorney. She also served as a Law Clerk to a 10th Judicial District Court judge. Ms. Saterbak has been a member on the Minnesota Coalition Against Sexual Assault in the Access to Justice Subcommittee and Volunteers as a Family and Youth Board Member at her church, planning and implementing activities for Youth to engage with one another and give back to their community.

Catherine Trevino: Ms. Trevino is currently an Assistant Public Defender at the Law Office of the Tenth Judicial District, where she has worked since 2014. In her current position, she represents clients facing probation violations, extradition cases, and all levels of felonies and misdemeanors. Previously, Ms. Trevino was a Trial Supervisor in the felony division of the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office, located in Indiana.  She has also been employed as a part-time Public Defender at the Lake County Public Defender’s Office in Indiana. She has also done pro bono work as a guardian ad litem. Her community involvement includes being a Member of the MN Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, a member of MN Women Lawyers Community Action & Advocacy Committee, a member of the MN Human Trafficking Task Force, a Mock Trial Judge for high school, and a member of the Peace and Justice Committee at St. Stephen’s Church in Anoka. 

Robin Wolpert: Ms. Wolpert is currently an Attorney at Sapientia Law Group where she has worked since 2016. In her current position she handles white collar criminal defense cases, business litigation, and civil and criminal appeals. Previously Ms. Wolpert was an Assistant County Attorney at the Washington County Attorney’s Office and Senior Counsel of Compliance and Business Conduct at 3M. Her community involvement includes serving as Chair of the Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board, Past President of the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, and the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being. 

 

Minnesota’s Tenth Judicial District consists of Anoka, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Pine, Sherburne, Washington and Wright Counties.
