ADR Tip of the Month: March 2014
All persons have common core values, such as safety, significance and belonging. Conflict occurs not over core values, but over differing cultural methods used to achieve common values. Methods are negotiable, values are not. When methods are negotiable, change is possible. Conflict is best resolved by acknowledging and honoring common core values and negotiating the difference in methods.
