Event Description

Online registration is closed. Email Abby Ward at award@mnbars.org to register

This program will feature a keynote address from Dr. Artika Tyner, a lawyer, educator, and the author of the award-winning book The Lawyer as Leader: How to Plant People and Grow Justice*. Dr. Tyner will discuss tangible ways lawyers and law students can use their legal skills to advocate for change in Black and other marginalized communities. After the keynote address, participants will move to breakout sessions where they will meet representatives from various local organizations engaged in assisting communities in need. Participants will learn how they can use their skills, position, and authority to assist these organizations. We hope participants will leave motivated and with concrete action items for how they can assist in bringing about change in our communities.

*Some participants will receive a free copy of the book The Lawyer as Leader: How to Plant People and Grow Justice
