A new year brings with it a great
opportunity to address ethical concerns and fears that stayed with many
attorneys through what was a crazy 2020. Is Zoom safe? How should lawyers use
Zoom in a safe and ethical way? The new year is also a great time to be
reminded of often unthought of ethics issues, that can seem to come out of
nowhere and cause trouble for lawyers. What should I be doing about the trust
account? Are my retainers ok? My client paid in cash, am I supposed to do
something?
This CLE will be geared toward newer
lawyers as well as solo/small firm lawyers and discuss ethical issues that both
types of attorneys face in daily practice. We will discuss concerns that many
attorneys have at the front of their minds (Zoom, working from home) and we will
also talk about ethical issues many lawyers might not be aware of that could
present issues in your daily practice, including the importance of office
procedures and conflicts checking systems. The CLE will focus on what newer
lawyers and lawyers working in a solo/small office environment can do to comply
with both the front of mind and the often overlooked ethical
issues.
At
the end of the CLE we hope to have lawyers feeling both better about having
addressed general concerns and fears and also with a new understanding and
appreciation for ethical requirements that are often
overlooked.
This CLE is co-sponsored by the
