Sections
Joining HCBA Sections is the most popular way to get involved in the local legal community – and for good reason.
You connect with attorneys who understand the unique aspects of your practice area and who help you gain knowledge and insight on the latest developments in the law.
You can join as many HCBA sections as you’d like – there is no additional cost beyond HCBA membership and section CLEs are free to attend at our HCBA office. Sign up today, start attending section activities, and get the most of your section experience.

4th District Ethics Committee
Maintaining the integrity and ideals of the legal profession is a key realm of responsibility for the HCBA. HCBA staff and volunteers work together to support the well-deserved national reputation of our local lawyers as standard bearers of ethics and service.
The 4th District Ethics Committee (DEC), operated by HCBA volunteers and staff, investigates and provides recommendations to the Office of Lawyers' Professional Responsibility regarding cases involving the code of ethics attorneys pledge to adhere to. The HCBA Professionalism Section is made up of attorneys whose work relates to alleged violations of this code of ethics.
