The Office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is seeking an experienced lawyer to focus primarily on issues affecting Minnesota’s farmers and farm communities, especially those experiencing risks to their livelihood and success.  The attorney will primarily be responsible for creating and carrying out strategic litigation and consumer protection priorities for the Office.  The position will involve collaboration with diverse farm and agricultural stakeholders, multiple levels of government and policy-makers, and rural communities among others.

This position is a rare opportunity to strengthen this priority within the Attorney General’s office, and requires a dynamic individual with excellent legal and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work creatively and collaboratively.

Requirements:  We are seeking a candidate with at least five (5) years of applicable litigation experience in one or more relevant areas including: agriculture, environment, antitrust, and consumer protection.  Candidates should have a proven ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.  Past commitments to public service, rural and farm issues, and a clear commitment to farmers and rural communities highly preferred.  Applicants should be admitted to the Minnesota bar or be eligible to obtain admission promptly upon hire.

Public service with this office may qualify applicants to have part of their student loans forgiven under a federal student loan forgiveness program for state government employees.  (Visit for more information.)

Applications:  Attorneys may express interest by submitting a cover letter and resume that includes relevant litigation experience and academic credentials to:
