    Suffolk University, among other institutions, is exploring ways to change the way lawyers are trained and educated. Legal education has not changed significantly in a century and a half. Suffolk's new program, the Accelerator-to-Practice Program, seeks to train lawyers in the practical aspects of running a law firm along with substantive law topics.

    Perhaps not quite as overused as variations on Watergate, but crises given an 'armageddon' moniker permeate news feeds today. Armageddon, Carmageddon, Snowmageddon, and now Mobilegeddon. So what cataclysmic event earned the latest superlative? Google frequently updates its search algorithm, and its most recent update now promotes websites that are mobile-friendly while penalizing those sites that are not.

MyCase recently published a graphic summarizing the ABA Legal Technology Survey, and the MSBA conducted its own member survey.

    A recent study by the Florida Bar Association found that almost 40% of lawyers plan to update their websites in 2015. Most of today's CMS platforms include a WYSIWYG design interface, meaning you can create and maintain an elegant website without having to speak some "secret" language. However, having some basic fluency in HTML can still be beneficial.

Libraries include primary law from all 50 states, as well as complete coverage of federal court decisions. Fastcase also includes statutes, regulations, court rules, and constitutions.   • Another Way to Get Updates from the MSBA

    The MSBA has a number of RSS feeds to help you keep up-to-date with new content from the Association. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, but basically it is a way for you to know when new content is published without having to check the website every day. By subscribing to an RSS feed you get notifications when new content is available automatically. You can use a number of different web-based news readers to keep up-to-date, but the MSBA uses Google's FeedBurner, which lets you receive updates by email as well.
