Event Description
This CLE is a joint presentation by
the Immigration and Criminal Sections of the MSBA. Presenters will will discuss
how criminal convictions impact noncitizens, from denial of applications such as
residency and naturalization to deportation, and how plea withdrawal can benefit
an immigration proceeding. The panel will also provide a primer on how
to withdraw a guilty plea in Minnesota state court, including case law and
process.
